This Weeks Particular Pieces

Wednesday, October 06, 2010

This week has been all about gearing up for Autumn. Switching light knitwear and sandals for cosy sweaters and warm boots is almost enjoyable enough to make up for the disappointing summer that we invariably have.

This week I have been coveting these particular pieces...

There is a distinct 'back to school' vibe that I love about these satchels. I used to get so excited at the start of a new school year when the novelty of a new uniform, bag and pencil case was still intact.

Mondalu Studded Leather Satchel from www.very.co.uk. A great everyday bag with plush floral lining.

Ochre Buckle Satchel from Wallis

Wallis is a department in my local Debenhams store but it has never really caught my attention, so I was surprised to see that so many different pieces piqued my interest on their website. This being my favourite. I love the ochre and tan colour combination and the slouchy, unstructured design that takes a side step from the tradition satchel.

School shoes never excited me though. There was always the inevitable battle with my Mother when it came to buying a new pair (you can read more about those trials and tribulations here). But these days shoes are a different matter, even buying everyday shoes fills me with joy. I am having a love affair with brogues at the moment, it started with these from www.very.co.uk... They are also available in Black, bright coral, rose pink and tan. I'm certainly feeling the coral for adding a pop of colour to a classic black trousers and crisp white shirt combo.

One item that I have buckled and purchased for myself this week is this gorgeous porcelain key pendant. I found Nonesuchthings on a blog that I have followed for a while now - ohjoy.blogs.com. As soon as I clicked onto the blog/shop I loved it. Have a look I guarantee you'll love it too.

I was also taken by this cute acrylic diamond ring available in black and clear - perfect for a guy that wants to pop the questions but can't decide on a ring! (I wonder if OH is ready this?)

Anyway, that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed my particular pieces.

Feel free to leave a comment, I'd love it hear from you!

    1. I loved those white brogues but they were so narrow I couldn't wear them for long. They've been replaced by a metallic rose gold pair, and a pink suede pair. I don't think I'll ever fall out of love with brogues.
